Yerang, who was born as the smallest baby in Korea, was discharged healthy
Yerang, who was born at 260g at 25 weeks and 5 days, the smallest weight baby in Korea, was treated at Samsung Medical Center and discharged in good health. Immediately after birth, Yerang required intensive treatments, including mechanical ventilation, antibiotics, vasopressors, and blood transfusions, due to respiratory failure and septic shock. If a baby is born weighing less than 300g, the survival rate is less than 1%, making it extremely rare. Through active treatment by medical staff at the Mother-Child Intensive Care Center and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit(NICU), Yerang was discharged weighing 3.19kg, more than 10 times her birth weight, and in good health.
