6 Easy Stretches to Improve Your Body, Mind, and Workday

Working in an office often means that we spend more than half a day sitting at a desk, which tends to stiffen our hips, back, and shoulders. Even moving a mouse, taking notes, and using a keyboard for long periods of time can be hard on our wrists and arms. Therefore, it's really important that we keep moving throughout the day and do some of the following six stretches to keep our bodies supple, pain free and invigorated.

1) Shoulder Stretching

2) Upper Leg Stretching

3) Elbow Pulling

4) Shoulder and Arm Stretching

5) Shoulder and Arm Straightening

6) Neck Stretching

These stretches are an excellent first step to improving your health and keeping your body active at work. If you can, and if there is space in your office, try to also spend a couple of minutes each hour walking around. Not only will exercise help to lengthen and stretch your muscles, preventing painful cramps and stiffening, but a small amount of regular exercise during the day will also promote blood flow and increase the amount of oxygen to your muscles and brain. More oxygen to the brain will improve your quality of work, your efficiency, and make you feel so much better. So why don’t you give it a go? See if stretching and exercise improves your body, mind and workday!
